Week | TWO ("Release Week")
Session #2 Replay
HOME WORK
- Watch the instructional videos (1-3) first (very important)
- Set aside time to go through the "Guided Release" experience at least once... (& remember to bring your intention)
Breathwork Disclaimer...
Welcome to this important lesson
***make sure to watch the video BEFORE doing the guided release experience***
Here you will learn how to properly execute the breath work portion of the exercise.
Safety (IMPORTANT to read before you practice)
These techniques are very powerful and are designed to unlock sometimes intense feelings, so it's not recommended for anyone that has the following...
- cardiovascular disease
- angina
- heart attack
- high blood pressure
- glaucoma
- retinal detachment
- osteoporosis
- recent injury or surgery
- any condition for which you take regular medications
- history of panic attacks, psychosis, or disturbances
- severe mental illness
- seizure disorders
- family history of aneurisms
- pregnant women or breastfeeding women
Summary:
We have 2 different breathing options (both equally powerful) it's just a matter of personal preference.
Both techniques require you to be lying down comfortably. (with or without a pillow) & a blanket is nice to have :)
Technique 1 - (Holotropic Breath Work ~ Stanislav Grof)
- Breathe in through your nose (sharply & deeply - with power)
- Exhale out of your mouth in a relaxed fashion (just letting the air naturally leave your lungs, without pushing out)
- Repeat at the rate of 2-3 X the speed of your normal breathing...
Technique 2 (Transformative Breath Work) - Rythmia Technique
- Breathe in through your mouth (sharply & deeply - with power)
- Draw the air first into your belly... and then into your upper lungs... creating a wave.
- Exhale out of your mouth in a relaxed fashion (just letting the air naturally leave your lungs, without pushing out)
- Repeat at the rate of 2-3 X the speed of your normal breathing...
What To Expect:
- You will likely find the technique to be laborious... breathing so intensely for a longer period of time... at first feels very tiresome. However, once you get into it... you will find the breathing starts to happen almost automatically and you can eventually relax into it
- If using the Rythmia Technique... you may experience dry mouth... but this too shall pass and become easily ignored after a few minutes
- You may feel tingling and a numbing sensation in your limbs... (hands and feet mostly)
- Your fingers may curl up creating what people call, (The T - Rex Posture) - if this happens simply take a few deep, longer, relaxing breaths... and either way it's nothing to worry about
- Powerful emotions very well may surface compelling your to cry/sob, scream, laugh, yawn, fart, or twist and turn (this is good and the whole point - these are all indicators of release and I recommend simply yielding do whatever is springing up in the moment).
Okay my friend...
If you have read through the "Safety" section and have determined you're going to give this powerful technique a shot then simply proceed to the next section to learn about QHHT :)
See you there!
